In Middle Age Middle Earth, hobbit Bilbo Baggins was unexpectedly involved in an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarven Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Bilbo joined a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oak Shield.
On this harrowing journey, Bilbo and his company of Dwarves arrived at the lair of a troll in Rhudaur. There they found two elven swords, Glamdring, Orcrist and a smaller third, with which Bilbo stayed, since it was a sword for someone of his stature. He wielded the sword for most of the quest, using it against the giant spider of the Black Forest to save the company of Dwarfs. After Bilbo had killed his first spider, he declared, “I will give you a name, you will tell Aguijon (Sting).”
